.22 Prone Match

General:

Stages are shot from prone position on paper targets, using natural or mechanical (bipod) support. It is a no-alibi match. The use of a butt stock bag and sling are optional. Scoring is limited; no extra shots are permitted on any shot string. Stages will be fired at 25, 50- & 100-yards. Opportunity to shoot a limited number of “sighters” will be given. Strings of 25, 30 & 20 rounds for a total of 75 scored shots. Please bring enough magazines to accommodate the course of fire. Time permitting, “fun runs” are optional at match director’s discretion. Fun runs will not be included in official score tally.

Divisions:

The 22 Prone match consist of 2 divisions, Ironman & Optics.

Optics is subdivided into Hunter & Sniper category.

Ironman:

Sights - Any iron, electronic (Red-Dot) or combination of. No magnified optic of any kind.

Optics:

Category determined by the max power of the scope.

  • Hunter any (fixed or variable) scope with a max magnification of 10 power (or less).
  • Sniper: any (fixed or variable) optic with magnification greater than 10x.
  • • All reticles (illuminated or standard) are allowed.

Equipment:

  • • Rifle case & chamber flag: required.
  • • Ear & eye pro are required for contestants, spectators & staff.
  • • Caliber: 22lr. No incendiary/tracer is allowed.
  • • A magazine fed semi auto or bolt action; full size, SBR or “pistol” configuration.
  • • Stock: any material, size, fixed, adjustable, break-down, folding is acceptable.
  • • Magazines: Shooter may not load more than 10 rounds in any magazine.
  • • Bipod, attached. May be removed if shooting “unsupported.” No “F class”, tripods or sled style permitted.
  • • Small support bag (size, no larger than common toilet paper roll). Any fill material.
  • • Shooting mat (optional).
  • • Sling (optional). Any type permitted.
  • • Suppressor – permitted
  • • Trigger – any safe trigger/weight is permitted.
  • • Knee & elbow pads - permitted.
  • • Specialized shooting coats & gloves are NOT PERMITTED.
  • • Spotting Scope is NOT PERMITTED on FIRING LINE.
  • • Handguns are NOT PERMITTED on the FIRING LINE.
