The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course is designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for supervising safe shooting activities and ensuring proper range operations. This course is ideal for experienced shooters, club officers, or anyone seeking to serve as a range safety leader during live-fire events. Participants will learn how to conduct range inspections, enforce range rules, handle firearm stoppages and malfunctions safely, and manage emergency procedures. The curriculum also covers standard operating procedures, range commands, safety briefings, and the roles and responsibilities of an RSO. The course combines classroom instruction with practical exercises to build confidence and competence in range supervision. Upon successful completion, participants will be certified as NRA Range Safety Officers, recognized nationwide as leaders in firearms safety and range management.
