2010 President’s Message
PRGC Members!
At the 2010 annual meeting earlier this month, we had a great turn-out,
thanks for coming if you were there to attend! We definitely had a
quorum, with about 150 members present. We held our annual election of
officers for the 3 open positions of the 9 elected board members at
large. George Lyle and Jim Timm were reelected and so remain on the
board. Joe Husband is a newly elected director. They have 3
year terms expiring in Jan 2013. Past treasurer Drew Pringle is off the
board for a very well deserved break.
After the election, per the bylaws, in an executive session, the 5
officers of the club were selected by the elected board. For 2010 I am
the President, Scott Milkovich is VP, Joe Husband is treasurer, George
Lyle has agreed to serve as Membership Secretary and John Wait remains
corresponding secretary. Ray Cernansky, Jim Timm, Brian Bakke and Roger
Romei are on the board as directors at large. Also each division will
have elected their directors who also hold a seat on the board. All of
our contact information is on the “Contact the Board of Directors” link
on the club website.
2008 and 2009 were very trying years for the club, many of you had
difficulties joining and renewing or contacting the club. 2010 is going
to be better. (You had trouble finding ammo in 2009 too, that one
wasn’t our fault, but I think it will be better too this year).
George is committed to getting the membership process streamlined and
all the errors and problems cleaned up. If you still don’t have your
card or gate code, contact him now at prgmem@earthlink.net (linked on
the website). Since we don’t know if the data-base is fully repaired,
all of you should email him your current email, phone number and
mailing address.
We have numerous other issues we want to work on, such as ensuring an
accurate calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts on ranges, improving
the aesthetics of the club property, making improvements to our
infrastructure, cleaning up the sometimes confusingly worded text of
our bylaws. If any of you members have thoughts on what else we can or
should be doing, contact me or whatever board member you regularly
shoot with, I will be making up the agenda for board meetings and will
add those ideas. If you want to help, whether with physical work,
paperwork or serving on a committee, contact me!
The board of directors meetings will be the 2nd Wednesday of each month
at 7PM, either in the classroom by the indoor range or if the weather
is nice, on the pistol range. (We might take the summer off, check the
calendar). Members are encouraged to attend. Next month’s is 10-Feb.
Your 2010 board members are committed to improving this club and
solving the problems that have plagued the club in recent years.
